What You Will Learn and Why It Matters
1. Learn what is involved in decommissioning
Decommissioning is not the same as oil and gas production. The activities, responsibilities and drivers are different. Learning what is involved, and building awareness of the key activities and drivers, will help you contribute more effectively.
2. Learn the language of decommissioning
Decommissioning has its own terminology. Without learning the language of decommissioning and the significance of the different terminology, discussions, documents and tenders can be misunderstood. Learning the language means you can follow, and contribute with confidence.
3. Build your knowledge of the challenges and opportunities
Decommissioning carries risks, hazards, constraints and cost drivers that don’t exist in the same way during oil and gas production. Building knowledge of these challenges and of what has worked on previous projects, enables you to build on good practice, familiarise yourself with opportunities to innovate and develop fit-for-purpose solutions to support offshore decommissioning.
